Congratulations Dr. April and a Letter from Drs. Rob and Elaine

To our clients, colleagues and friends,

In 1997, two young veterinarians arrived in Trail, BC with little more than their veterinary degrees and a baby on the way. They needed a fresh start, an income and a place to raise their children. They had no idea what was in store for them, they closed their eyes and jumped head first into the challenges of practice ownership and parenthood.

It has been an amazing journey and we cannot express how grateful we are to the wonderful clients and pets that let us into your life, entrusted us with your special, furry family members and along the way became more than just clients but also friends. Thank you for allowing us to support the bond you share with your animal companions, to share your stories with us and for accepting us into the community. It has been a humbling experience and a privilege to have been such a trusted part of your pets care over the years.

It is with mixed emotions that we share some exciting changes at West Kootenay Animal Hospital. We are thrilled to announce that on September 1, 2017, Dr. April Hahn will take over ownership of West Kootenay Animal Hospital. While it has been a difficult decision to start a new chapter in our lives, we could not be happier to leave our practice in the hands of such a capable and compassionate veterinarian. We know Dr. Hahn and the amazing team at West Kootenay Animal Hospital will continue to maintain the high quality of care, dedication and integrity that has been the standard at West Kootenay Animal Hospital over the years.

As for us, we will be available through the fall to support Dr. Hahn in this exciting transition. However we know it is once again time for change. Time to take a deep breath, close our eyes and jump. At this time we still are not sure where we will land but we do know that the West Kootenays will always be home. Not just because of the mountains, lakes and forests we love, but because of the amazing community of people who make this place so special.

Until we meet again,
Drs. Rob and Elaine Klemmensen
