Ranger Krajinovic

Ranger, an adorable little German Shepherd mix puppy, wasn't doing very well soon after being adopted. He didn't seem to have much of an appetite, was having diarrhea and even vomited up a worm! Ranger came in to the hospital where Dr. Christel examined him and found that he had severe roundworm infestation. Roundworms are the most common intesinal worm found in puppies and can be passed from their mother while they're still inside her or they can be contracted from the environment. Adult pets can contract roundworms from ingesting small animals like rabbits or rodents who are infected. It's a good idea to talk to your veterinarian early about proper deworming protocols and parasite prevention especially because roundworms can even be passed onto humans.

Ranger is a lucky boy and with some fluid therapy, anti-nausea medicine, proper food and deworming, he is feeling like a normal puppy again. Ranger is now putting on weight and thoroughly enjoying life with his new family.
