COVID-19 August Update

UPDATE as of August 19th:

Due to the increasing number of Covid cases in our area, we ask that all clients entering our building please wear a mask. Our doors will remain open but only one client may attend an appointment at a time with their pet. Thank you for your patience and kindness and see you soon!

Dear West Kootenay Animal Hospital friends,

British Columbia has moved into Phase 3 of its Covid restart plan. This means a loosening of restrictions for public spaces and businesses. West Kootenay Animal Hospital will follow provincial guidelines for the reopening of the business moving into the fall of 2021

Beginning August 3rd, the clinic doors will be open for you to come and go for appointments and to purchase food and medications.

These new guidelines will be in place until the next phase of the reopening plan which is slated for September 7th, 2021. This is the earliest effective start date and depends on case counts and vaccination ratesProtocols may change depending on the recommendations from local public health authorities

Safety is our goal.
We will not require anyone to wear a mask in the clinic. Mask wearing will be recommended but not mandatory for clients when in the front office, waiting area, and examination rooms.
However, we will require all visitors to the practice to disinfect their hands upon entry.

You may come in through the front doors of the practice to pick up food and medications. We still encourage you to call ahead for your pet's food and medication orders as well as use our online webstore to reduce the amount of time spent waiting inside the building.

You will be permitted to accompany your pet into the appointment room for your appointments. There will be no limit on how many people can accompany a pet into the exam rooms.

However, you can still choose to drop off your pet for their appointment as you've been doing. Please remain available by phone if you choose to drop-off.
